Boy Howdy!
The Story Of Creem Magazine

Scott Crawford

Rock Journalism !

“Creem” from Detroit was called “America’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll Magazine” and developed in the early 70s from a local underground postille to a style-defining press organ, to which the world owes the genre names “Punk” and “Heavy Metal” among other things, in a bitingly ironic distance to the music industry and with the participation of critic icon Lester Bangs. The film traces the rise and fall of this impressive publication project.
