A research of folk music today and yesterday: Béla Bartók (1881-1945), a music ethnologist and composer of modernity was influential well beyond the limits of classical music. He travelled through Hungary and Romania to collect folk music and to study the harsh rythmics and pentatonic melodies, to process it then in his own works.
