Okay Okay - Der moderne Tanz
Mediengeschichte / Christoph Dreher, Heiner Mühlenbrock / Deutschland 1980 / 90 min (OF)
West-Berlin at the beginning of the 80s: This experimental film is classified as a milestone by now. It defiantly and gloomily contrasts the greyest cityscapes of all times with the then new music (Pere Ubu, Chrome, PIL, Residents, Wire, Throbbing Gristle etc.) and shots from the legendary SO36 in Kreuzberg. The music explains the pictures: Post-punk urban landscapes are becoming eerily beautiful as the aggressive and stubbornly structured noise provokes our attention.
