“Solo for Sanije” is a documentary about the true story behind the DEFA-film “Solo Sunny”. Sanije tried to align her dreams with the reality in the GDR. Now she is 65 years old and still lives in Berlin. She was unemployed after the reunification and got into conflict with the law due to repeated shoplifting. The film turns into a portrait of a loner not finding back into normal life and whose life resembles an exciting but precarious juggling act.
