Justin Staple | USA | 2020 | 89' | engl. OV
In 2010s America, young rappers take advantage of the SoundCloud streaming platform and rise to become a culturally very influential and independent force in hip-hop. They shock with face tattoos, abusive use of prescription psychotropic drugs, wild escapades and rebellious punk DIY lo-fi energy. The film introduces the most prominent artists of the SoundCloud rap scene, not without contextualizing the phenomenon in relation to developments in the music business and in society as a whole.
Featuring Lil'Peep, XXXTentacion, Smokepurrp, Bhad Barbie and many more.
